Mount Laurel Schools Closed for Remainder of the 2019-2020 School Year
On May 4, 2020, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy ordered all schools in the state closed to students for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year due to the COVID-19 Virus. State direction on summer programs such as camps and extended school year curriculum has not yet been announced, but is forthcoming, according to the governor. Updates will appear here and on our COVID-19 Updates Webpage.

Board Approves Hiring of Two New Administrators
Board of Education members approved the hiring of two new administrators at the May 19 regular meeting, which was again held virtually and live-streamed over the district's YouTube Channel. Following a lengthy search during which online interviews were held at three levels, Christina Fletcher has been selected as Mount Laurel's new Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. It was a similar process that led to the board's vote to hire Patrice Clark as Larchmont Elementary School's new principal on Tuesday night. Biographical information for each of the new administrators follows.

Minor Changes in Our Online Education Program
March 29, 2020
Dear Springville Parents,
Thank you for a successful first week of learning online! As a school community we continue to work together to ensure your child can learn and grow even under these extraordinary circumstances. We know that your children enjoy connecting with their teachers and we continue to strive to make this experience positive and engaging.
We have made some minor adjustments to the learning schedules for grades 1 through 4. These plans allow for us to integrate specials (Art, Music, PE/Health, and Library Media) across the grade levels and throughout the week. These new plans will take effect tomorrow, Monday, March 30, 2020.  The mornings will still be designated for instruction, and the afternoon hours will be a time for you to check in with teachers.
Please know that teaching and learning in this virtual platform is new to us all, including our teachers. All teachers are recording their lessons and they will be available for future access by students. If you have any questions at all for me or your child’s teacher, reach out anytime. We are here to make this process as smooth as possible for you and your children.
Dr. Gailen Mitchell
